Massey University Webinar: Growing More Grass with Diverse Pastures. (Sheep + Beef) Insights into production and resilience
Whenua Haumanu is NZ’s most comprehensive research programme on diverse pastures and regenerative agriculture. Led by Massey University and now with four years of data, the trials have yielded some unexpected results while also substantiating a few theories.
“We assumed diverse pastures would lower our production… but this didn’t happen. We’re growing more with diverse pastures, with and without inputs…”
Join us online on 17 June at 7.30pm as the Whenua Haumanu research leads share key results, discoveries and ongoing questions relating to:
• Pasture growth, quality and diversity, and
• Meat and milk production
The research programme is also yielding fascinating results in the areas of soil and animal microbiomes, nitrate leaching and greenhouse gas emissions.
These insights will be shared on a future webinar. Expect 40-50 mins of punchy results and insights followed by a 20 minute Q&A.
The four sheep & beef trial treatments are: A) Standard pastures + contemporary management B) Standard pastures + regenerative management C) Diverse pastures + contemporary management D) Diverse pastures + regenerative management
